To document the trip, I carried my cameras everywhere we went and took pictures of everything that caught my eye. In Loveland, I explored quirky old neighborhoods filled with vernacular typography, while in Pocatello, my focus was the old downtown, full of neon signage and ghost signs from businesses that were often no longer operating. The design approach for the publication lets the photography and writing shine, allowing the typography to take center stage to highlight the humorous text or play a subtle role in my reflections. Small details, including the date, location, and icons that reference the photographs, provide additional layers of context and interest, enhancing the experience for viewers as they accompany me on this journey.
