10 Rules Sister Corita Kent

This art book manifesto is inspired by Sister Corita Kent’s 10 Rules for Students and Teachers. Throughout the project, I took Kent’s words to heart and focused on experimentation as a guiding principle. Each spread interprets her rules through visual exploration Kent’s manifesto became a workbook for the process, with each page designed by following a rule as I personally interpreted it.

The design concept for this publication was to work with materials, type, and techniques I had never used before. I began by designing the spreads in InDesign, incorporating experimental drawings and photography I was creating at the time as imagery. My own writing, reflecting on Kent’s rules, is scattered throughout the book, illustrating how I was applying her ideas not only within this project but across my broader creative practice at the time.
